12 inches #24 silver wire
-
6 inches #22 silver wire
Instructions:
To assemble the pendant:
-
Cut 6 inches #22 silver wire and center it in the center
hole of the quartz flower.
-
Press the wire tightly against the front and back of the
flower, and then turn a half twist at the back of the flower petal.
-
Grasping just above the pendant and holding the wires
together tightly, place them at the back (large end) of the jaw of
round-nose pliers.
-
Turn the wire forward, toward yourself and the
pendant, to shape a round hanger, the bail, then wrap the ends tightly
around the bottom of the wire 3 times, concealing it behind the flower.
-
To make the decorative center of the flower, cut 12 inches
of #24 silver wire.
-
Place a 3mm green freshwater pearl on the wire about an inch
from the end, then double the wire.
-
Twist the doubled wire gently until you have a wire stem
around ½ inch long.
-
Continue the process, twisting the stems side by side, and
gently shaping then into a small circle, approximately 1/8 inch across.
-
Twist the ends together to close the circle. These will
represent the stamens of the flower, so the number and length can vary
according to your preference.
-
Next, place 6” of #22 silver wire through the hole of the
10mm pearl and center the wire.
-
Twist the ends together once, then place the circle of
stamens behind the pearl. Insert the wire on the 10 mm pearl through the
center hole of the flower and wrap around the wire forming the pendant
hanger.
-
The pendant is ready to be placed on the necklace.
To Assemble the necklace:
-
Cut two 27” strands of wire.
-
Place tape 2 ½ inches from one end of each of the wires.
-
On the top strand, string 5 and 1/4 inches of Delicas seed
beads and a double drilled pearl spacer (using the top hole).
-
Next, place 2 inches of Delicas beads, one 4mm pearl, one 3
x 6 mm rose quartz disc, one 6mm pearl, one 3x 6 rose quartz disc, one 4mm
pearl, and 1 and ½ inches of Delicas seed beads.
-
On the bottom strand, place 5 and 3/8 inches of Delicas seed
beads and thread through the bottom hole of the double-drilled pearl.
-
Next, place 1 and 15/16 inches of seed beads, one 4mm pearl,
one 3/6 rose quartz disc, one 6mm pearl, one 10mm rose quartz teardrop, one
6mnm pearl, one 3 x 6 mm rose quartz disc, one 4mm pearl, and 1 and ½ inches
of Delicas seed beads.
-
Both strands of wire will pass through the next three beads.
Please note that both wire strands pass through the three center beads, so
make sure the beads selected have big enough holes to do so.
-
Place both strands through one 3x6 mm rose quartz disc and
the 2mm silver bead. This is the center point of the necklace.
-
Add the Pendant, and then pass both strands through one 3x6
mm rose quartz disc.
-
String the other half in mirror image, matching the lengths
and checking to make sure everything drapes properly.
-
When satisfied, attach your clasp.
-
Crimp the strand to the rings of the S hook at each end,
then cover with the four crimp covers.
-
Often, one end of the S hook will have to be opened a little
for the ring to slip on and off.
